Elder has begun receiving letters, postcards and the coloring pages at Winn. June 30 will mark six months of ICE detention, and so this mail is highly encouraging to him to endure– he knows we are working hard for his release!

Our next phase is to contact Elder’s elected officials and let them know his community is advocating for his release.

Starting immediately, we need to contact every person within our sphere of influence (family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, those in our faith communities) to both write a letter, and also make a call with a specific ask: call Secretary Mullin and ask that ICE use its discretion to allow Elder to return to his community while his immigration case continues. Share Elder’s one-pager to keep his story consistent.

Elder’s teacher has a congressional visit on Wednesday, June 23, 2026 and it is essential that we flood both the Representative and the Senator’s offices so they know their constituents support the release of Elder, a teenager who was granted legal status by this Administration.

Ideally, we are asking all supporting Elder’s release to send one letter and make one call every day, to both the Representative and the Senator until Elder is released.

These letters and call scripts are templates and are encouraged to be personalized.
