Elder Chavez Carranza, a high school junior from Alabama, was detained by ICE in December 2025. He came legally to the USA from Honduras when he was 14. Despite his legal status, Alabama police turned him over to ICE after a traffic stop, and he has been in detention for 6 months.
Elder is being illegally detained.
He has legal status and should be finishing 11th grade at Asbury High School. He has dreams of becoming a welder when he finishes school.
Instead, he is being held in ICE detention at Louisiana, 500 miles from his home.
